Volunteer Child Advocate Training for the Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights in MI

The Young Center for Immigrant Children’s Rights trains volunteers to serve as volunteer Child Advocates for unaccompanied and separated immigrant children federal custody in Michigan. Volunteer Child Advocates meet with their assigned child once a week to accompany them and learn their story, in collaboration with Young Center attorneys and social workers, who advocate with key decision makers to support the child’s best interests.
The Young Center is recruiting volunteers who are fluent in Spanish, Dari/Farsi, Pashto, Ukrainian, French, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Hindi, Punjabi, and indigenous languages of Central America throughout Michigan. Our next volunteer Child Advocate training is on Saturday, June 11th and Sunday, June 12th at 12:00pm-5:00pm EST via Zoom.
